    Currently, Dr. Vandersea serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UNC-Chapel Hill and is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Vandersea’s clinical interests include orthognathic surgery, dental implants, and facial trauma. In recent years, he has collaborated with several of his OMSA colleagues to publish chapters in multiple oral & maxillofacial surgery textbooks.

  • Andrew T. Ruvo, DDS

    Oral Surgeon

    While in residency, Dr. Ruvo earned his medical degree from The University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed a one-year General Surgery internship. Through his extensive surgical experience, Dr. Ruvo has developed a wide range of clinical interests including orthognathic surgery, facial trauma, and dental implants. He has been board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

    Oral Surgeon

    Dr. Serlo is active in the dental and medical communities through memberships in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, American Medical Association, and the local dental societies of Durham, Orange, Chatham and Lee counties. Dr. Serlo is also active in the North Carolina Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society in which he serves as the OMSPAC chair. Dr. Serlo provides patient care in all three office locations and is on staff at Durham Regional Hospital, North Carolina Specialty Hospital and Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center.
